Chopam Terms of Service

The rules that apply when you buy, sell or deliver on the Chopam marketplace.

Last updated: October 2026

1. What Chopam Is

Chopam is an online marketplace that connects customers with vendors, farms and market sellers, and with independent riders who deliver orders. Chopam operates the platform, takes and settles payment, and coordinates delivery.

The seller is responsible for the food or produce they list, its quality, its price and its description. The rider is responsible for the delivery they accept. The contract for the goods is between you and the seller; Chopam is not the seller of those goods.

2. Your Account

You must be 18 or older to hold a Chopam account, and the details you give us must be accurate and up to date.

Keep your password and delivery codes private. You are responsible for activity on your account, so tell support immediately if you think someone else has access to it.

Seller and rider accounts are verified before they can trade. We may suspend or close an account that is used to defraud customers, riders or sellers, or that breaks these terms.

3. Orders, Prices and Payment

Prices are set by the seller and shown in Naira. The price, delivery fee and total you are asked to pay are recalculated on our servers when you place the order, so the amount confirmed at checkout is the amount charged.

Order minimums, delivery fee tiers and the delivery areas we serve are shown in the app and can change from time to time.

You can pay from your Chopam wallet, by card, by bank transfer or, where it is offered in your area, by cash on delivery. Card and transfer payments are processed by our licensed payment partners; we never store your full card details.

Wallet balances are held for you to spend on Chopam. They are not transferable to another person, earn no interest, and cannot be withdrawn except through the payout route shown in the app. Funds for an order are held in escrow and released to the seller once the delivery is confirmed.

Cash-on-delivery orders are limited to the amount shown in the app and confirmed by the rider at your door.

4. Delivery and Confirmation

Estimated delivery times are estimates, not guarantees. Traffic, weather and seller preparation times can affect them.

When your order arrives, share your delivery code with the rider at your door. That code is what releases the payment to the seller, so do not send it to anyone before your food is with you.

Where proof of delivery is required, the rider takes a photo at the delivery point. It is used only to confirm the delivery and to settle any dispute about it.

If nobody is available to receive the order, the rider will try to contact you. If the order cannot be handed over, it is returned and the delivery is not treated as completed.

5. Cancellations, Returns and Refunds

You can cancel an order free of charge before the seller accepts it. After that, a cancellation may carry a cost where food has already been bought or prepared.

If an item is missing, wrong, spoiled or not as described, report it from the order in the app or to support straight away, with a photo where you can. Our Refund, Returns & Delivery Policy sets out what happens next.

Refund windows, timelines and the ways we refund are set out in full in the Refund, Returns & Delivery Policy, which forms part of these terms.

6. What Sellers Must Do

Sellers must describe products honestly, keep prices, availability and preparation times accurate, and fill orders with food that is fit to eat and handled hygienically.

Food that is packaged or regulated must meet the applicable Nigerian requirements, including NAFDAC registration and labelling where they apply. Sellers must be able to show the registration or approval for anything they list that needs one.

Live animals and meat must be handled and transported in line with the applicable animal health and movement rules.

Sellers must not list illegal items, expired goods, or anything they are not entitled to sell, and must keep the customer information we give them confidential and use it only to prepare that order.

7. What Riders Must Do

Riders must deliver to the address given, keep the order sealed and in good condition, use the customer's contact details only for that delivery, and confirm delivery honestly.

Riders must hold a valid licence and the vehicle they registered with us, and must keep their availability and account details accurate.

8. Reviews, Advertising and Content

Reviews must reflect a real experience. We may remove reviews, listings, photos or messages that are false, abusive, unlawful or misleading.

Sponsored listings and advertisements are labelled as such. Advertising is vetted against the requirements that apply to advertising in Nigeria, including the Nigerian advertising code, before it runs.

9. Our Responsibility

We work to keep the marketplace available, accurate and safe, but we do not control the kitchen of a seller or the road a rider takes, and we cannot promise that a listing is error-free.

Nothing in these terms removes the rights Nigerian consumer law gives you, and we do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Complaints and Disputes

Raise a problem with an order from the order itself or from Help & Support, and we will look into it. Our Refund, Returns & Delivery Policy sets out how quickly we respond.

These terms are governed by Nigerian law. If we cannot resolve a consumer complaint between us, you may take it to the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) or to a court.

11. Changes and Contact

Chopam is operated in Nigeria from No D7, Green Roof Plaza, Opposite Corn Oil Fuel Station, Area 3, Abuja. You can reach us on WhatsApp or by email at Chopam@inspireiq.com.ng, or from the Help & Support screen in the app.

We may update these terms as the marketplace changes. If a change is material we will notify you in the app and, where the law requires it, ask you to accept the updated terms before you continue.

By using Chopam you confirm that you have read and accept these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.
